FULL INTERIOR CONCEPT

At the end of spring 2019, the development of a new concept for a restaurant on two floors at Hansa, in the center of Malmö, began. We wanted to create a classic, timeless restaurant with elegance in the true Hansa-spirit. The idea is that the restaurant on the entrance floor should have a light bistro/café touch, reflected in the menu where you can, for example, order smørrebrød and a glass of cava while observing the flow of people passing by in the shopping center. Five foundational elements - white tiles, solid oak, metal; brass and chrome, Carrara marble, and leather - pervade the restaurant's design and together create the balance in the timeless expression we sought in the concept.

The restaurant on the basement floor is a crossbred between a deli and an evening bistro where you can enjoy a menu of taste experiences during a longer sitting. It is also a lunch restaurant where you can escape the everyday rush on the street level and have a quick lunch in a more calm, secluded environment one floor down and perhaps afterwards, buy charcuterie, cheese, and locally produced goods from the deli. The materials from the entrance floor continue here, except for the brass, which is replaced by blackened metal and stainless steel to create a rougher, more subdued feeling in contrast to the entrance floor.
